Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, 15 days to Idul Fitri, (the Islamic Muslim's holiday after Ramadhan), there are a lot of homeless people and beggars from many places out of the city, and even from other province are coming to Padang. Today those people stay anywhere around the streets even in the central market, Pasar Raya Padang and in the big green park of the city, at Imam Bonjol street.
Most of the beggars and those homeless people purpose to make money during this holly month, Ramadhan days. they work in the street, at the traffic light, asking some money to people, to drivers and to riders on the day long. In the night they come to mosques a long with Muslims who come to pray, but they do not come for pray there, just stay on mosques' terrace asking people to mercy them by giving some money.
This condition is probably getting worse until 7 days to Idul Fitri, according to Miral Masri, the services staff of Padang social department.
Today the Padang city authority force with Padang Social Department get along to take handle the beggars and homeless population in the city. Some of them now have been already taken and put in government shelter, states Miral Masri. By Lucky Lukmansyah
